Remaining Positive in Today's World
With today's economic climate and with added stress of our jobs, how can we maintain a positive outlook both in our work life and personal life?
I will be the first one to admit that it is not always easy to maintain a positive outlook, especially when my work becomes overwhelming. It seems like sometimes that my days run together and that I never have time to take time to enjoy the lighter side of life or the hobbies that I love. Maybe you find yourself in the same boat.
The March issue of Positive Thinking magazine, offers 11 things that we can do to make sure we cultivate the positive energy in our lives.
Each of us must make a conscious choice to feed ourselves with positive energy rather than negativity. The actions are simple. We need them to make them a habit. Why not give the following a try? The only thing you have to lose is negativity....
- Smile. It boosts your serotonin levels making you feel happier.
- Practice gratitude. It's impossible to be stressed and thankful at the same time.
- Laugh and play.
- Listen to your favorite music.
- Think of your greatest moment whenever you are feeling down.
- Start a journal making note of your successes big and small.
- Get together with a positive person.
- Call someone who has made a difference in your life and thank them.
- Engage in a random act of kindness
- Read uplifting books
- Go for a prayer or meditation walk.
